Mail Tips for Mac Users

Issue: Mail App will not connect to SMTP Server

Possible Solution: Delete the saved credentials for the server from the Keychain.

When changing email login credentials, it may be necessary to first delete the related Key of the previous credentials from
the Keychain Access panel on OS X (Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access).

  1. In the Keychain Access panel, click on "All Items" in the Category pane.
  2. In righthand pane, sort keys by "Name"
  3. Find relevant email key (will likely have i7mail.net or i7media.net in Name; "Web form password" as Kind)
  4. After confirming it is the correct key, delete.
  5. Return to Mail application and re-enter new account information.
